Member and Non-Member Access
HCEA currently allows open access to participate in public groups whether users are members or not as long as participation adheres to the conduct outlined in HCEA’s Social Media Technology Guidelines. However, at the discretion of HCEA, members-only subgroups and special topic subgroups will be created to serve the needs of members as outlined by membership category benefits, educational needs or industry issue forum needs. HCEA may refuse or remove at any time, group participants that are not paid members or non-members whose activity is deemed non-compliant with the spirit of HCEA’s social media guidelines.
Code of Conduct and Information Sharing
HCEA acknowledges the dynamic nature of social media, information sharing and the need to positively facilitate growth, standards and best practices in the healthcare convention marketing and exhibitions industry.
While some information may be displayed in various HCEA social media communities, it may not reflect the views of HCEA. Therefore, HCEA does not:
- endorse comments, opinions, news, research or other information displayed, unless otherwise denoted as official HCEA communications or issue positions.
- condone news feeds, blog feeds, video content, audio content, images and other supporting media content deemed inappropriate.
HCEA Social Media Conduct Guidelines
- Social media communities shall be used to further the profession, convey knowledge and positively influence the healthcare convention marketing and exhibitions industry.
- Users will not promote their specific companies’ or organizations’ products or services, or otherwise engage in commercialism.
- Users will not initiate nor participate in any way in conversations that might be considered anti-trust violations of any kind.
- Users will engage in respectful dialogue with other community participants be they members or non-members.
- Users will not knowingly convey false information.
- Users will not use the communities to spam or otherwise engage in the sending of unsolicited information.
- Users will not engage in promoting illegal or illicit content.
- Users will respect the privacy rights of individuals.
- HCEA committee members, board members or members participating in official HCEA business will not engage in posting information deemed proprietary or otherwise confidential.
