ATLANTA - George Feehan, President of GWF Associates in Hamilton, N.J., was presented with HCEA's Distinguished Service Award during the 2004 Annual Meeting of the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA), June 12-15 in Austin, Texas.
The award, HCEA's highest form of recognition, was given to Feehan to recognize his decades of service in the healthcare convention marketing industry and his dedication to HCEA. He joined HCEA in 1959 when it was still known as the Medical Exhibitors Association, and he has served on HCEA's Board of Directors, Annual Meeting Committee and Exhibitors Advisory Council.
Feehan has been a pioneer in the development of interactive video, multimedia, simulation and virtual reality presentations in the healthcare industry. Since founding GWF Associates in 1974, he has directed the company's efforts toward incorporating the latest developments in video and other technologies into their productions. Feehan is a product design graduate of the Pratt Institute.
HCEA established the Distinguished Service Award to recognize individuals who have made a major contribution to the association and/or the healthcare convention and exhibition industry throughout the years. The award is not necessarily presented every year, but only when HCEA's Nominating Committee and Board of Directors determines that there is an eligible candidate.
HCEA is the only association solely dedicated to improving the effectiveness of all conventions, meetings and exhibitions for the healthcare industry. HCEA represents nearly 700 member organizations involved in healthcare exhibitions and conventions.
