ATLANTA - Themed "Reflecting Success," the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA) 2001 Annual Meeting, June 10-12, in Minneapolis, will reflect many opportunities for healthcare exhibiting and convention professionals to increase their own success, including 50 percent more educational sessions from a year ago.

One of the many highlights of the meeting will come from Stacy Allison, the first American woman to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. Ms. Allison's keynote message will incorporate how to thrive in your workplace through personal vision, relationship building, clear communications and accepting responsibility for choices, actions and outcomes. If you are looking at what seems to be insurmountable challenges, Stacy will show you how you can begin Reflecting Success as you move "Beyond the Limits."

Lucy Rose, former Director of the Division of Drug Marketing, Advertising and Communications (DDMAC) of the Food and Drug Administration, will reflect on her experiences in regulating pharmaceutical promotion to help healthcare exhibitors better understand the regulatory environment in which they work. Now a private consultant, Ms. Rose provides prescription drug promotion regulatory training and consulting to the pharmaceutical industry and its service support providers.

The HCEA 2001 Annual Meeting will include more than 35 educational sessions focusing on topics as diverse as housing, what physicians prefer in Continuing Medical Education conferences, exhibitdesign trends, and how to develop an exhibit marketing plan. It is the only healthcare-specific exhibit marketing educational conference in the United States.

New this year is continuing education at the HCEA Annual Meeting. Through partnership with the Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA), HCEA will offer continuing education credits at the Minneapolis meeting toward TSEA's Certified Manager of Exhibits (CME) Professional Certification Program. The Certified Manager of Exhibits designation is the only not-for-profit, association-sponsored certification program that recognizes professionalism in exhibit management and marketing.

The HCEA Exhibition is also the only healthcare-specific exhibition of its kind. More than 100 exhibitors, from custom exhibit designers, I&D firms, and show services providers to CVBs, hotels, and DMCs, will feature the latest products and services for the healthcare meetings and exhibition industry.

HCEA's Annual Meeting is open to HCEA members and non-members. Registration, prior to May 9, is $545 for HCEA members and $765 for non-members. For additional information or to register, visit the HCEA Web site at www.hcea.org or call (404) 252-3663.

HCEA is the only association solely dedicated to improving the effectiveness of all conventions, meetings and exhibitions for the healthcare industry. HCEA represents more than 700 member organizations involved in healthcare exhibitions and conventions.
