ATLANTA - Education on maintaining personal safety at healthcare conventions and views on how to comply with the California Marketing Compliance Law were highlights of this year's eighth annual Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association (HCEA) Healthcare Convention Marketing Summit, held January 26. A total of 130 attendees participated in the one-day educational event, which was held at the Hyatt Harborside in Boston.
The meeting was kicked off by a dynamic presentation on safety for healthcare meeting professionals by Charles Gary Denney. The program then moved on to two morning breakout sessions--The New California Marketing Compliance Law: What Exhibitors Need to Know, presented by Jeff Mittleton and Christopher Myers, Holland + Knight LLP, and the lively Association/Industry Exchange, moderated by Randy Bauler, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, and Barbara Costa, Organon Pharmaceuticals USA.
The afternoon included sessions on how different companies comply with the California Marketing Compliance Law, planning for participation in global congresses and growing conference and event sponsorships.
